Say goodbye to the iron chin of the previous generation iMacs and say hello to more screen space with smaller bezels. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg expects the next iMac to pull heavy inspiration from the Pro Display XDR monitor released in 2019.
You can expect the next iMac to have a completely flat back, that’s quite a difference from the curvy rear we’re used to on the current model. Previous rumors have described the new iMac having the same design language as the new iPad Pro.
The previous models has had the same design for almost a decade now, with the last refresh being 2012 due to the limitations of the display and hardware. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo the 21.5inch will get bumped up to around 24 inches thanks to the smaller bezels and the new Apple Silicon. The redesigned iMacs are expected to be released spring and fall this year.
